What is the larger root of x² − 8x + 15 = 0?
Answer: 5. x² − 8x + 15 = (x − 5)(x − 3) = 0, so the roots are 5 and 3. The larger is 5.
What is the larger root of x² − 13x + 40 = 0?
Answer: 8. x² − 13x + 40 = (x − 8)(x − 5) = 0, so the roots are 8 and 5. The larger is 8.
What is the larger root of x² − 5x + 6 = 0?
Answer: 3. x² − 5x + 6 = (x − 3)(x − 2) = 0, so the roots are 3 and 2. The larger is 3.
What is the larger root of x² − 9x + 18 = 0?
Answer: 6. x² − 9x + 18 = (x − 6)(x − 3) = 0, so the roots are 6 and 3. The larger is 6.
What is the larger root of x² − 9x + 14 = 0?
Answer: 7. x² − 9x + 14 = (x − 7)(x − 2) = 0, so the roots are 7 and 2. The larger is 7.
What is the larger root of x² − 15x + 54 = 0?
Answer: 9. x² − 15x + 54 = (x − 9)(x − 6) = 0, so the roots are 9 and 6. The larger is 9.
What is the larger root of x² − 13x + 36 = 0?
Answer: 9. x² − 13x + 36 = (x − 9)(x − 4) = 0, so the roots are 9 and 4. The larger is 9.
What is the larger root of x² − 11x + 30 = 0?
Answer: 6. x² − 11x + 30 = (x − 6)(x − 5) = 0, so the roots are 6 and 5. The larger is 6.
What is the larger root of x² − 3x + 2 = 0?
Answer: 2. x² − 3x + 2 = (x − 2)(x − 1) = 0, so the roots are 2 and 1. The larger is 2.
What is the larger root of x² − 6x + 8 = 0?
Answer: 4. x² − 6x + 8 = (x − 4)(x − 2) = 0, so the roots are 4 and 2. The larger is 4.
What is the larger root of x² − 9x + 8 = 0?
Answer: 8. x² − 9x + 8 = (x − 8)(x − 1) = 0, so the roots are 8 and 1. The larger is 8.
What is the larger root of x² − 8x + 7 = 0?
Answer: 7. x² − 8x + 7 = (x − 7)(x − 1) = 0, so the roots are 7 and 1. The larger is 7.
