Answer: 2. x² − 3x + 2 = (x − 2)(x − 1) = 0, so the roots are 2 and 1. The larger is 2.

Answer: 76. (a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b², so a² + b² = 12² − 2 × 34 = 144 − 68 = 76.

Answer: 26. Distance = √(10² + 24²) = √676 = 26.

Answer: 53. nth term = a + (n − 1)d = 9 + 11 × 4 = 53.

A cylinder has a radius of 7 cm and a height of 3 cm. What is its volume? (Use π = 22/7)

  2. B. 924 cm³
  3. C. 66 cm³
  4. D. 462 cm³ ✓

Answer: 462 cm³. Volume = π r² h = 22/7 × 7 × 7 × 3 = 462 cm³.
